The reality is that most of the popular car rental companies have operations in Cape Town. I am talking about the likes of TEMPEST, Sixt, Avis, Imperial, Hertz, Europa to name just a few. Amongst these I have only one that I prefer but before I get too personal let me just tell you about a few non-popular Cape Town car rental companies.
One of the most highly recommended is Africar Hire. Their prominent service is the insurance they offer. It is one of the best in amongst Cape Town car rental companies. They also have reasonable rates to. One thing to mention about these is that Hertz offers their cars.
I have a met a few friends of mine who have use Avis and Hertz. Although I have no personal experience with these except Imperial-Europ, you should probably check them out especially if you are going to be picking the car up at the airport. Avis offers full insurance but they price is not as favorable as the others. While Imperial-Europ offers a good pricing structure and has a vast network not only in Cape Town but across the country. It is all well and good to have a short-list of Cape Town car rental companies but there are some few things you should keep in mind while looking for your best option.
Regardless of the company you choose you must make sure the insurance offered is comprehensive enough for you. Most of the companies do offer theft waiver and collision damage waiver, anything else beyond that is normally your problem.

A few minutes’ drive from the city centre will bring you to the most beautiful beaches such as Clifton, Camps Bay, Bantry Bay and Green Point, to name just a few. All water sports are offered there and the beaches are first class – as well as the property prices, unfortunately.
Cape of Good Hope:
After a 25-minute drive from Cape Town you arrive at the Cape of Good Hope via the magnificent and spectacular Chapmans Peak Drive. Here you can take a walk through an 8000 ha nature reserve that offers impressive coastlines and beaches, Rocky Mountains, magnificent views of the sea and a great variety of plants and animals.

A paradise for botanists. Apart from the beautiful indigenous flora and lovely lawns you can enjoy high-quality summer concerts.

The most basic type of inventory inspection you can conduct is a simple visual inspection of the place. Although this will give you an overview of the place, this method doesn't really guarantee efficiency as you aren't really in the position to provide proof if you find something out-of-order later on. Therefore, it is highly advised that you make use of videotapes when conducting your inspection.

I am merely trying to inform you that people are prone to making mistakes. Hence, it's always better not to land up in a situation where you have to pay for the mistakes of others. Do the hard work now so that you are able to reap the benefits later for many years to come.
